REINA SHIMIZU
Reina Shimizu, an up-and-coming female saxophonist who combines a powerful blow with heat and aggressive phrasing, appears with elite members who are active in the music scene.
1989年生まれ、大阪府堺市出身。
6歳よりピアノ、13歳よりフルートを始める。
大阪府立泉陽高校入学後、軽音楽部でテナーサックスに出会う。
2006年神戸jazzソロｵｰﾃﾞｨｼｮﾝに合格、熱帯jazz楽団と共演。
その後、FM COCOLO,朝日放送『musicるTV』,新聞などメディアに多数出演。
2008年 甲陽音楽学院入学後、古谷光広氏､荒崎英一郎氏に師事し在学中からLIVE活動を行う。
2009年『Power LIVE 2009 』でベストソリスト賞を受賞。
2011年からトート音楽院で講師業を始める。
2015年9月～2017年12月 東京ブラススタイルに所属。
日本全国の小中高生を中心にクリニックを行い、芸術鑑賞会などにも多数参加。
幅広い活動により出会えたアーティストのライブサポート、レコーディングにも参加。
2017年松尾スズキ演出 長澤まさみ主演ミュージカル『キャバレー』のキット・カット・クラブ・バンドとして、東京・神奈川・大阪・仙台・愛知・福岡など全38公演出演。
2017年Roland初のデジタル管楽器 エアロフォンのセミナーやレッスンを精力的に行い、デモンストレーターとして音楽誌Sax World(Vol.6～９)で記事を連載。
2018年、オリジナル全７曲を収録した自身初のリーダーアルバム『1031~ｲﾁﾏﾙｻﾝｲﾁ~』をリリース。
音楽誌『jazz Life(2018.12月号)』『Sax World(vol.11)』にアルバムレビューが記載され、"歌えるインスト"と注目を集める。
2018年10月～2019年2月 レコ発ツアーLive、大阪・東京・台湾など、全7カ所（追加公演も含む）どの会場も満員御礼、大盛況で幕をとじる。
2019年6月台北 雅痞アートカフェにて行った自身のリーダーliveでは、約80名を動員。
11月 自身アルバムの中から2曲、Remix versionを配信開始。
2020年7月 サックスのみならず、フルートやキーボードなど重ねる音にまでこだわったデジタル シングル 『Thick Fog』がリリースされ、
i-Tunes(Japan) Jazz部門で18位を記録。
12月 AKB48柏木由紀 初のディナーショーでのバンドメンバーとして参加。
2022年2nd Album 『the new dawn』
2023年3rd Album 『MOTIVE』をリリース。
Apple Music ジャズシーン、オルタナティブシーンなど、サックスプレイヤーでは珍しい幅広いジャンルでのプレイリストインを記録する。
エレクトロな要素に加えメロウで中毒性のある楽曲を、エッジのきいた自身のサウンドで表現し続けるサックスプレイヤー清水玲奈。
現在も日本国内、幅広く活躍中。

Born in Sakai City, Osaka in 1989.
Started playing piano at the age of 6 and flute at 13.
After entering Osaka Prefectural Senyo High School,
she discovered tenor saxophone in the light music club.
2006
Won the Kobe Jazz Solo Audition, and performed with Nettai Tropical Jazz Big Band. Reina appeared in media such as Radio
(FM COCOLO), TV (Music-ru TV), and Newspapers.
2008
Enrolled in the Koyo Conservatory of Music. Studied under Mitsuhiro Furuya and Eiichiro Arasaki while performing live on the side.
2009
Won Best Soloist at Power LIVE 2009.
2011
Started tutoring at the Thoth Music Academy .
2015
Began performing as a member of the Tokyo Brass Style (Sep 2015 - Dec 2017). Actively supported younger musicians all over Japan, and performed at art appreciation events.
Served as a backing musician for many live performances and studio recordings.
2017
Reina performed across Japan in all 38 shows of Cabaret the musical (Directed by Suzuki Matsuo / Starring Masami Nagasawa).
Started giving lessons and holding seminars about the Aerophone (the first digital wind instrument that Roland released). Published columns about the Aerophone in the music magazine Sax World (Vol. 6 - Vol. 9).
2018
Released her first solo album titled 1031 (Ichi Maru San Ichi), which contains 7 original instrumentals. Magazines such as Jazz Life and Sax World published glowing reviews of the album.
Toured for the album from October 2018 - February 2019. Tickets sold out for all locations.
2019
June 2019, Performed live at the Da’an Art Reading Cafe in Taipei for 80 guests.
Nov. 2019, Released a remix of 2 instrumentals from the album 1031.
2020
July 2020, the digital single "Thick Fog" was released, featuring not only the saxophone, but also flute, keyboards, and other layers of sound.
It reached 18th place in the Jazz category on i-Tunes (Japan).
Dec. 2020, Joined AKB48 Yuki Kashiwagi's first dinner show as a band member.

She has been playlisted in a wide range of genres such as the Apple Music jazz scene and the alternative scene, which is rare for a saxophone player.
Saxophone player Reina Shimizu continues to express her mellow and addictive music with electro elements and her own edgy sound.
She is currently active in Japan and abroad.
